Why are some shifts unavailable to me?
Not every shift in the system will appear for every worker. MyGig only shows shifts that match your profile, skills, availability, and location.
Here are the main reasons a shift may be unavailable:
- Location restrictions: If a shift is outside your preferred work area or too far from your current location, it won’t be shown. MyGig recommends keeping your location preferences updated for the best match.
- Skills and certifications: Some shifts require specific qualifications or certificates, such as a white card for construction or RSA for hospitality. If your profile doesn’t meet these requirements, you won’t see the shift.
- Availability conflicts: Shifts that occur when you’ve marked yourself as unavailable are automatically hidden. Always update your availability to maximise your opportunities.
- Shift already filled: Many shifts have a limited number of workers. If all spots are taken, the shift will no longer appear in your dashboard.
💡 Tip: Regularly update your profile, certifications, and availability. Adding skills and maintaining certifications increases the number of shifts you can access.
