How to book workers?

Booking workers through MyGig Business is simple and transparent. Follow these steps to create a new request and get the right workers for your business.

1. Navigate to 'Book Workers'

• Log in to your MyGig Business account.

• From the top menu, click Book Workers.

  This will take you to the “Create new Shift(s)” page.

2. Select a Location

• Choose the business location where the shift will take place.
• You can confirm the exact address on the map and in the address field.
• Ensure the state and country are correct.

3. Select a Position

• Select the Position you need to fill (e.g. Retail Assistant, Bartender, Warehouse Worker).
• Each position is tied to the correct Award and Classification for compliance.
• If the classification is invalid or missing, you may see a warning such as “Classification is not valid, contact support.” In this case, please contact support for assistance.

4. Add Shift(s)

• Specify the number of workers required.
• Select the shift date, start time, and end time.
• The system automatically calculates the duration.
• To add more shifts, click + Add Shift.
• For ongoing needs, tick Recurring Shift and set the repeat schedule.

5. Rate & cost estimate

• Review the Rate & Cost estimate section before confirming.
• You can choose to increase the base rate (e.g. +5%, +10%, custom) to attract more workers in a competitive market. (New feature coming soon)

The estimate includes:

• Gross Pay (including PAYG tax)
• On-Costs (superannuation, workers compensation, payroll tax)
• Service Fee
• Total cost estimate for the shift(s)

6. Submit your request

• Once all details are complete, click Next to confirm your booking.
• Workers will then be notified and can apply for your shift(s).
• You’ll be able to track applications, confirm workers, and manage shifts directly in your MyGig Business dashboard.

7. Choose how you select for the Shift(s)

• Option 1: Auto-Select = You trust our AI and Algorithm to pick the right workers. We will pick workers from your pools first.
• Option 2: Manual Selection where you pick workers one by one after reviewing their profiles
• Option 3: Invite Workers from outside MyGig / who are not yet onboarded (by email)

Tips for success

• The more detail you provide in the shift request, the better your chances of attracting suitable workers.
• Consider increasing the base rate during busy seasons or for hard-to-fill positions.
• Always double-check the Award classification to remain Fair Work compliant.
