Work health and Safety Policy
MyGig is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our residents.
Our policies and operational procedures apply to all aspects of MyGig operations, all sites and offices of MyGig along with any project involving its resident cohort.
This policy will be reviewed annually or when changes in legislation or company procedures dictate.
MyGig supports work health and safety by:
- Promoting participation in safety efforts for works undertaken by and on behalf of MyGig;
- Reducing, eliminating and controlling the risks to the health and safety of all residents and visitors;
- Protecting people performing work for and on behalf of MyGig from risks to the health and safety of those individuals;
- Obeying the laws and regulations associated with the health and safety of all employees, residents, visitors, contractors and the public;
- Consulting, listening and responding openly to our employees, board members, residents and contractors about all safety-related concerns and issues.
This also includes the continual improvement and ongoing review of all policies and procedures:
- Constant development, implementation, monitoring and reviewing of the Work Health and Safety Management System
- Specific objectives and targets are set and monitored in a monthly safety audit conducted by MyGig personnel.
Mental Health Policy
The purpose of this policy is for MyGig to establish, promote and maintain the mental health and wellbeing of all residents through workplace practices, and encourage those to take responsibility for their own mental health and wellbeing.
MyGig will actively seek feedback from its residents and review the policy to determine if objectives have been met and to identify ways to continuously improve.
Goals
- To build and maintain an environment and culture that supports mental health and wellbeing and prevents discrimination (including bullying and harassment).
- To increase knowledge and awareness of mental health and wellbeing issues and behaviours.
- To reduce stigma around depression and anxiety in the workplace.
- To facilitate participation in a range of initiatives that support mental health and wellbeing.
Scope
This policy applies to all residents of MyGig.
Responsibility
All residents are encouraged to:
- Support and contribute to MyGig's aim of providing a mentally healthy and supportive environment for all residents;
- Take reasonable care of their own mental health and well-being, including physical health;
- Take reasonable care that their actions do not affect the health and safety of others in the workplace.
MyGig have a responsibility to:
- Ensure that all residents are made aware of this policy and easily accessible;
- Actively support and contribute to the implementation of this policy, including its goals;
- Manage the implementation and review of this policy.
Hazard reporting policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is for MyGig to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, casuals, residents and visitors.
Goals
- Ensure a Safe Workplace – Identify and address potential hazards promptly to prevent accidents, injuries, and health risks.
- Ensure Compliance with WH&S Regulations – Align hazard reporting procedures with workplace health and safety (WH&S) standards and legal requirements.
- Be aware and act with responsibility.
Scope
This policy applies to all residents, including contractors and casual employees.
Responsibility
Should the resident note a hazard within the space, the resident, employees, contractors, casuals and visitors must:
- Immediately report any hazard risk of injury or illness to their local MyGig team and act to make the area safe while ensuring your own safety is not jeopardised.

MyGig can provide all Hazard or Incident Reports to the resident upon request.
First Aid Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to cover what first aid is and provide guidelines for dealing with first aid incidents at MyGig. It deals with the resources being provided for first aid and the responsibilities of first aid officers and MyGig staff in case of emergency.
Goals
- Be aware and act with responsibility.
- First Aid Officers will ensure a safe and prepared environment by providing immediate medical assistance, maintaining first aid resources, and promoting health and safety awareness.
- Managers or supervisors will proactively support first aid readiness, ensuring a safe, responsive, and well prepared workplace for all team members.
Scope
This policy applies to all residents of MyGig.
Responsibility
As part of MyGig's commitment to the effective provision of First Aid, the company aims to:
- Provide adequate resources for the supply and replenishment of first aid kits and equipment;
- Ensure that everyone in MyGig has access to a first aid kit and access to facilities for administering first aid;
- Appoint and maintain a first aid officer who has received training and who will report to management on all matters relating to first aid;
- Residents, employees, contractors, casuals and visitors are to immediately report any injury or illness to their local MyGig team;

Delivery Policy
At MyGig, we are committed to ensuring a secure environment. To maintain workplace safety and efficiency, delivery drivers and couriers are not permitted to enter the shared workspaces or offices unless accompanied by a resident. Additionally, the handling of deliveries, including dangerous goods, must comply with workplace health and safety (WH&S) regulations.
Purpose
This policy outlines the guidelines for managing deliveries within our spaces:
- To maintain a secure environment by restricting unsupervised courier access.
- To ensure safe handling and storage of all deliveries, including hazardous materials.
- To minimise disruptions to residents and daily operations.
- To comply with WH&S regulations regarding dangerous goods.
Goals
- To prevent unauthorised access by requiring resident supervision of delivery personnel.
- To designate safe and accessible areas for package drop-offs.
- To establish clear procedures for handling and storing hazardous deliveries.
- To promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
Scope
This policy applies to all residents of MyGig.
Responsibility
- Residents are responsible for ensuring couriers do not enter the shared workspaces and offices unsupervised.
- MyGig staff will oversee policy enforcement, address safety concerns, and handle incidents related to unauthorised access or hazardous deliveries.
Residents are not permitted to bring or host visitors in areas containing dangerous machinery, hazardous chemicals, confidential records, or sensitive equipment.
Exceptions may apply to contractors and stakeholders who have received prior authorisation from the Operations Manager. In such cases, residents must escort the visitor at all times.
E-Bike & E-Scooter Policy
To maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents, strict guidelines apply to the use, storage, and charging of electric scooters and bikes within our space. These measures are in place to mitigate risks associated with fire hazards, clutter, and workplace safety compliance.
Purpose
This policy aims to:
- Ensure the safety of all individuals within the workspace.
- Prevent fire hazards associated with charging electric scooters and bikes indoors.
- Maintain clear and unobstructed workspaces for all residents.
- Enforce compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations.
Goals
The objectives of this policy are to:
- Prohibit the charging of electric scooters and bikes within the premises to prevent battery related fire risks.
- Establish clear storage guidelines to prevent obstruction or encroachment on other residents' spaces.
- Ensure all residents adhere to WH&S standards to maintain a safe and orderly workspace.
Scope
This policy applies to all residents of MyGig.
Responsibility
- Residents must ensure their electric scooters and bikes are stored appropriately. Scooters may be stored in their office or under their desk without encroaching on other workspaces or walkways. E-bikes are not permitted anywhere in the workspace and must be stored in the designated storage area. Ask the local team for details.
- E-scooters must not be charged anywhere in the workspace, hallways or offices.
- MyGig Staff will report any safety concerns related to improper storage or use, enforce the policy and address any non-compliance issues.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in access restrictions or further action to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WH&S) standards.
Unauthorised visitors
Residents are required to report any unauthorised visitors to MyGig staff immediately. Any visitor engaging in inappropriate behaviour will be asked to leave, and further action, including prosecution, may be taken if necessary.
