What insurance and liability coverage does MyGig provide?
When you work through MyGig, your safety and protection are our top priorities. That’s why every shift you complete is automatically covered by Workers’ Compensation Insurance and liability protection.
What is Workers’ Compensation?
Workers’ Compensation is a legal requirement in Australia. It protects you if you get injured or unwell while working on a MyGig shift.
Coverage includes:
- Medical expenses for treatment after a workplace injury
- Income support if you can’t work while recovering
- Rehabilitation programs to help you return to work safely
- Death or permanent impairment benefits, in rare cases
Public Liability Coverage
In addition to Workers’ Compensation, MyGig also provides Public Liability Insurance.
This protects you if a third party is injured or property is damaged while you are performing your work duties.
How it Works?
- You don’t need to take out your own insurance, MyGig handles it automatically.
- All approved shifts are covered from clock-in to clock-out.
- If an incident happens during a shift, you should report it immediately through the MyGig app or contact support at support@mygig.com.au.
Your Responsibilities
While MyGig provides insurance coverage, you also have a role to play in keeping yourself safe:
- Follow site safety rules and inductions
- Wear the appropriate PPE or uniform if required
- Report any hazards, accidents, or unsafe situations immediately
