First Aid Certificate
What it is?
A First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent) confirms that you’re trained to respond to medical emergencies at work.
Why it’s needed?
It’s often required in industries like hospitality, construction, childcare, and logistics. Even when not mandatory, it’s highly valued by employers.
How to obtain it?
- Complete a first aid course with an accredited RTO such as:
- St John Ambulance
- Red Cross
- Australia Wide First Aid
- Your local TAFE or training centre
- Training usually includes one day of practical work and online theory.
How to renew it?
- First Aid certificate: renew every 3 years.
- CPR component: refresh annually.
How to upload it to MyGig?
- Go to Profile → Documents & Certifications.
- Click Upload certification → First Aid certificate.
- Attach a copy of your current certificate.
