How to understand your payslip (gross pay, PAYG, super)?

At MyGig, we believe in transparency and ensuring you have a clear understanding of your earnings. After each validated shift, you can access your payslip directly through the MyGig app or website. Here's a breakdown of what you'll find:

  1. Pay Period

    1. Start Date: The beginning date of the pay period
    2. End Date: The concluding date of the pay period.
    3. Payment Date: The date your payment is processed.

  1. Pay Summary

Your pay summary shows all components that make up your gross pay and deductions. It includes:

      • Earnings: Base pay (hourly rate × hours worked) plus casual loading (25% if you’re a casual employee).
      • Allowances: Extra payments for specific duties or conditions (e.g., travel, meal).
      • Deductions: PAYG (income tax withheld) and any other applicable deductions (union fees, salary sacrifices).

Gross Pay = Earnings + Allowances

Pay Summary after deductions = Gross Pay − PAYG − Other deductions

  1. Superannuation

Superannuation is your retirement savings. MyGig contributes 12% of your gross earnings to your nominated super fund each pay period.

  • You can choose your own super fund or use our default option, Hostplus.
  • Contributions can be tracked via your super fund account.

  1. Net  Pay

Your net pay is the amount you receive for you after all deductions and super contributions.

  • This is the amount deposited into your bank account or MyGig Wallet.
  • You can transfer from your MyGig Wallet instantly or on a weekly schedule.
