How to onboard as a business?

Getting started on MyGig is quick and easy. Just follow these 5 steps to complete your business onboarding:

  1. Create your account

You have two sign-up options:

  • Sign up with email – You’ll receive a magic link via email to confirm your account.
  • Sign up with Google – Faster option with automatic account verification.

  1. Enter required Business details

  • Business name
  • ABN (Australian Business Number)
  • Address
  • Industry
  • Sub-industry
  • Website (URL)
  • Business description — What your company does, key services, or areas of expertise.

To fully activate your account, you’ll also need to upload the following documents:

  • Business logo
  • Relevant licences
  • Certificate of insurance
  • Current WorkCover Policy
  • Any other supporting documents

—> You can complete the uploads later, but all documents must be submitted before booking any workers.

  1. Add Locations

For each location, you will need to provide:

  • Street address
  • Location name – how you want to name and recognise the location
  • On-site contact – you’ll be able to update this later if needed
  • Exact point on the map to locate your business
  • Workers’ geofence – the area where workers are allowed to clock in and out
  • Included amenities, such as parking, staff meals, etc.

Once that's done, the location will appear on your profile under the 'Locations' tab.

  1. Add Positions

Creating a position on MyGig allows you to define the specific role and working conditions for the shifts you’ll post. Each position is linked to an award and classification, which determines the applicable pay rules.

Required information for each position:

  • Role – General category
  • Title – Internal or display name for the position
  • Award & Classification – Used to calculate pay rates
  • Tasks & Duties – What the worker is expected to do
  • Required Certificates, Experience or Age
  • Attire Instructions & Restrictions – What to wear or not wear
  • Grooming Instructions – Standards for appearance
  • Other Instructions

  1. Add a Payment Method

Before you can book any workers on MyGig, you’ll need to add at least one valid payment method. This ensures smooth transactions and confirms your booking eligibility.

Choose on the Payment method tab the method you want to introduce, complete it, and that's pretty much it.

Tips:

  • Double-check your details for accuracy.
  • This information will appear on invoices and official documents.

That’s it! You’ve just completed the first steps to onboard your business. You can now start booking workers by creating new shifts.
